Like game 1, the second of the best-of-3 championship series would also start off with a bang.

With Craig Hastings getting the start for the home team, Fred Rogers & Will Kenney quickly reminded C.Hastings why he hadn't won a game from the hill since the 2004 HMWL Championship. Hastings allowed four runs, highlighted by Will Kenney's 2-run triple. After just one inning, C.Hastings was relieved by brother Justin.

Rogers got the start for the opposition, making quick work in the first, striking out both Craig and Justin to take a 4-0 lead into the second inning.

Justin Hastings took over in the second, quickly getting both outs in the top half of the inning. Craig continued his offensive rampage in the series, hitting a solo homer to put his team on the board. J.Hastings added an RBI-triple to cut the lead in half.

The game stayed at 4-2 until the bottom of the fourth. Fred & Will looked to tie the series with only two more outs. However, Craig Hastings would hit another clutch hit, sneaking a Rogers offering onto the center field deck to tie the game at 4. Rogers would bear down, record two strike outs, and push the game to extras.

The momentum was quickly taken back in the fifth, where Will Kenney hit an absolute bomb into right field, reclaiming the lead 6-4 for the team of Rogers & Kenney.

Then, in the home half of the fifth, the rains came. And the rain didn't stop. After multiple scheduling difficulties, the game was picked up five weeks later. Unfortunately, Rogers could not find the plate after the long layoff.

Fred allowed three straight walks and allowed the home team to tie the game at 6. With the bases loaded, Justin Hastings stepped to the plate needing only a single to end the series. He struck out looking.

Neither team threatened in the sixth. Likewise, J.Hastings recorded another two strike outs in the top half of the seventh. When it came to the bottom of the seventh, Craig & Justin knew it would only take one run to win the championship.

"We certainly did not want to play a game 3," said Justin.

Craig led off the inning with a walk, followed by a solid piece of hitting by Justin, slapping a double to the opposite field, leaving two runners in scoring position and Craig Hastings at the plate. Craig already had several clutch hits in the series, and he would not disappoint here.

After a grounder to the right side of field slipped under a diving Fred Rogers's hands, Justin & Craig Hastings won the game, the series, and the right to be called the 2005 HMWL Champions.
