Rich McMackin // originally written in ther winter of 2005
Oh how I dream for Summer '05 to begin now. There's a fresh 30" of snow on the ground in Massachusetts, and I, Rich McMackin, am 1300 miles from Hastings Park trying to gain an education. However, reflections from a disappointing 2004 season plague my dreams at night and every thought when checking on the developments of the HMWL. My pitching, which I pride myself on, was truly a disappointment last season and I feel as if I may have been surpassed by a more youthful generation. It's a shock to the system. Just two seasons ago it appeared as if I had grasped the sport securely by the balls (wiffleballs that is). Now, it appears as if my best days may be behind me and I know that the only way that I may return to the zenith of wiffleball superiority is through intense practice and off-season training. So therefore, beware all pretenders to the throne, Rich McMackin will be back in full effect next season. New balls or not, I will regain my title as the top player in the world of wiffleball in HMWL '05.
