Individual single-season records in the HMWL are hard to come by as of late. The 2002 season, which boasts the highest number of regular season games, is the year in which most records are held.

There are a number of statistics from that fated season that will never be touched. Justin Hastings’s record of 20 homers in the 2002 campaign will never be touched. However, some one may challenge it. The 2004 season featured the lowest total of at bats per home run in league history (one homer for every 15.4 at bats). If a significant number of games are played this season, you may see HMWL.net with its own home run tracker.

Furthermore, Rich McMackin’s 2002 records of a 1.20 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP are records that are far from attainable. With the shift to new wiffleballs, the game has become more offensive than in past years. In fact, the league ERA in 2004 was a whole run higher than in 2003 (3.83 vs. 2.88). The days of dominant pitching are most likely behind us.
