It is the great mystery of the HMWL: the pattern of HMWL Championships. Starting in 2002, each season has seen a repeat champion, but never 3-in-a-row.
Rich McMackin, after his two dominant back-to-back titles, fell off the earth in the 2004 season. McMackin couldn't find his groove from the mound and did not qualify for the postseason.
The stage is set yet again in 2006 for someone to complete the 3-peat. If Craig Hastings comes through with his third consecutive HMWL Championship, he will most certainly step to the forefront of the league’s all-time best. |
