The
year of 2k1 just keeps getting better. On Saturday, November 24,
the first ever game of fall wiffleball was played at Hastings Park.
The game featured six of the game's best. The team of McMackin,
L.Hastings, and Palmquist hosted the likes of J.Hastings, C.Hastings,
and Cassaro.
Three
innings wouldn't be enough for these wiffleball warriors. The
game would be forced in to extra innings following a 3-run third
inning by the McMackin-lead squad.
After
back to back homers by Palmquist & McMackin off of C.Hastings
in the bottom of the third, the game headed to a 4th frame. There,
McMackin shut down his opposition, then worked his 2k1 magic once
again in the bottom of the fourth. After a Palmquist single, McMackin
took a beautiful offering from Cassaro into right field for a
game-winning 2-run homer to make him the Fall Ball MVP. |

2001 was the first-ever game of Fall Ball. If nothing else, it was
an excuse for the crew to get back together for some athletic competition.
It also spawned that tremendous image that melds a Cassaro swing
with autumn imagery. |
