Fred Rogers had an incredible 2005 regular season.

Rogers dominates awards

Normally, the HMWL Awards are those that are battled for deep, deep into the season.

Not this year.

After a monstrous opening day with 5 home runs and 14 RBI, Fred Rogers had a lock on several awards far before the season's final pitch.

Rogers blew away the competition not only from the plate, but also from the bump. Rogers set new HMWL records by posting an 0.94 ERA along the way to posting 7 victories. All in all, Rogers ended the year with a 7-2 record, a WHIP of 1.25 with 8 complete games and 3 shut outs.

Rogers also led the league in RBI, HR, 3B, SLG %, and total bases. As long as the HMWL is around, you will hear that Fred Rogers had arguably the greatest regular season in history (be aware that Rich McMackin's season of '02 has the same argument).

"The 2005 regular season belonged to Fred Rogers, period," said Justin Hastings, who finished second to Rogers with a 0.98 ERA.

Rogers also took home the Error Boy Award for best pitcher and the Offensive Player Awards.

TJ Collins can now consider himself an HMWL Award winner.

Collins took home Play of the Year honors after his stellar May 28th play. Then, TJ fielded a slowly hit ball at second base, then dove full-out to flip the ball to Joe Greene for a fantastic put out.

The final award of 2005, which goes to the best Performance of the Year, went to Craig Hastings. The back-to-back HMWL Champion won the award after his gutsy performance in the 2005 HMWL Championship, placing the game-winning hit into right field for a walk-off hit.

Fred Rogers won three awards this year: MVP, Error Boy, and Offensive. It gives him 5 career awards.

TJ Collins won his first-ever HMWL award after earning the Play of the Year.

Craig Hastings took home his 3rd career Performance of the Year award (and 2nd back-to-back). He has 3 total awards.
